North Norfolk District Council needs people to report acts of vandalism in order to put things right. Vandalism is criminal damage, which is a legal offence - whether it's defacing a park bench, applying graffiti or smashing something up to render the item completely useless.
If you are a witness or have reason to believe you know who has committed the offence, you should contact Norfolk Police.
You should also report the offence to the body responsible for the item, for example if it is a public telephone box, contact British Telecom, or if it is a bus shelter, contact the relevent bus company.
If the item is a park bench, sign, dog or litter bin, or you are unsure of who is responsible for the item, please contact Property Services at North Norfolk District Council. The Council needs you to report it in order for it to be repaired - which could save someone being injured by the broken object. This is particularly the case for water safety aids, such as life-belts which are available along the coast and broads areas. See our Beach Safety pages for more information and useful contact numbers.
You can contact us through Customer Services on 01263 516189 or write to NNDC, Holt Road, Cromer, NR27 9EN or use the 'Contact Us' link at the top of the page to send your information via this website. Please remember to include details of the item that has been vandalised, including the location.
