Village Hall

Southrepps Village Hall
The Village Hall is a modern, well-appointed building set in pleasant open surroundings. It opened in 1984 and replaced a prefabricated hut built in 1949 which had been obtained from an American air base. The necessary element of local funding was raised through a great variety of events organised over a lengthy period by a dedicated band of volunteers.
The hall has ample car parking, including designated disabled areas, and backs onto a large playing field. There is also an equipped play area for younger children close by.
The large main hall has polished wood block flooring and is fronted by an impressive fully curtained stage (16 ft. by 32 ft.) with direct access side doors. There is a separate kitchen with modern facilities - catering size electric cooker, heated trolley, fridge and freezer, a rapid-cycle dishwasher, worktop space and double sink unit with a separate handwashing basin. A large serving-hatch opens directly to the hall. There is also a separate bar area complete with a similar serving-hatch.
The hall is heated by a pair of modern large-capacity Calor Gas heaters with circulation fans which achieve comfortable room temperature very quickly. Enhanced roof and wall insulation conserve the heat and reduce emissions. There are male and female toilets with hand washing and drying facilities and a separate disabled toilet which also provides baby-changing facilities. The building is fully equipped with a fire alarm system approved by Fire Officer inspections. Licensed capacities range from 300 in close seating to 150 at table seating.
Access to the hall is from Crown Loke, which is a small lane branching from the High Street opposite the junction with Church Street.
Apart from providing a venue for many local organisations, the hall is available for private hire at very reasonable rates. For further details or any enquiries, contact the Bookings Secretary: Debbie Briggs (at the Vernon Arms Public House ) - telephone no. (01263) 833355.
