Anne Webster
Representing the South Ward of Sheringham
For thirty years my professional career was as a teacher for the Oxfordshire Education Authority. I have worked in both the Primary and Secondary sectors. I had the privilege of setting up a project involving working with parents and children at an Environmental Study Centre. Then I was appointed as a Special Needs Advisory Teacher.
I came, with my husband, to visit a relative who had moved to Sheringham. Walking in the town "betwixt the sea and the pines" we both fell for the charm of Sheringham and decided that this was where we wanted to live.
For the past two years I have worked as a volunteer in the Lifeboat Shop, which has given me further insight into the local community.
I enjoy making use of the facilities at "The Splash" and am continuing to learn Spanish at the Adult Learning Centre. I have been a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds for many years and now also belong to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. (Where better than the Sheringham area to watch birds!)
Retirement has given me the time and the opportunity to give something back to society and I shall do this through Sheringham Town Council.
