I was born in Surrey in 1949. My mother was born in Norfolk and our association with Sheringham began with summer holidays in the 1950s. I moved to Sheringham in 1972. For 25 years I have been a rare and secondhand book dealer, I have two shops in the town. I joined Sheringham Town Council in 1980 and have always been active in local affairs, especially with the Preservation Society and the Museum Trust. My main hobby is being a local historian, I have written several books on Sheringham. I am divorced with two married children and two who are still dependants.
