Salthouse 04

Salthouse 04 crossing the line exhibited work by 28 artists. Curated by Manuel Chetcuti, the exhibition presented a wide range of practices from some significant artists with a Norfolk connection. Some of the works on show were made in response to the church itself, while others were selected with the space in mind. crossing the line ran from 8 July to 8 August 2004 and was supported by North Norfolk District Council, Arts Council England, East and Norfolk County Council, and sponsored by Cookes of Fakenham and Whin Hill Cider, Wells. The exhibition was opened by Andrea Stark, Regional Executive Director of Arts Council England, East.

Events in Salthouse Church included:
• Mark Fawcett and The Sam Smith Singers musical double bill
• Louis de Bernieres and the Antonius Players poetry and music
• Roger Lloyd Pack and Jehane Markham poetry and jazz
• Chicago Boy Choir recital
• Cley Little Poetry Circle

In addition to the now well-established programme of workshops for primary and secondary schools, three adult workshops were held in the British Columbia Hall, Salthouse:
• Stitched textiles with Sheila Lucas
• Blowing in the wind sculpture with Alison Wagstaffe
• Design, decorate and fly a kite with Helen Howes
