Clinical Waste

This is a special service that North Norfolk District Council provides for items of clinical waste to be collected. There are 3 types of clinical collection:

  • Group A: All human tissue including blood soiled surgical dressings, swabs and other soiled waste from treatment areas.
  • Group B: Used hypodermic needles.
  • Group E: Incontinence pads, colostomy bags, used disposable bedpans and bedpan liners.
The service is provided by dedicated vehicles and requires the use of yellow sacks or sharps box.

You can apply for this service, and acquire the sacks/boxes, from our Customer Services Team on 01263 516189/516301.

When you have requested a clinical waste collection NNDC will write to confirm the details of the collection, and let you know when the collections will be made.

This service is free for domestic use but for businesses, please see our commercial clinical waste collection charges.

Please do not place clinical waste and/or needles in either the black refuse or clear recycling sacks or your Twin Bins.
