Investing in the future of North Norfolk
The package has been welcomed by the business sector across the whole county, with Caroline Williams, chief executive of the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, saying, “A stronger vibrant North Norfolk economy will encourage investment, attracting jobs in addition to supporting current businesses.”
- Having a finance fund to help struggling small businesses
- Encouraging people to become self-employed and creating subsidies on industrial units for start-up companies
- Working with King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council to market northern Norfolk as a tourist destination
- Creating a ‘procurement shop’ to help small businesses connect and sell their products and services
- Committing the Council to start capital projects early, paying invoices quickly and buying locally
- Extending planning consent deadline for commercial development from three to five years
- Supporting people searching for work experience and promoting and providing training programmes
