Planning Enforcement

The Planning Enforcement Service investigates alleged breaches of planning control and monitors conditions attached to planning conditions.   Planning laws are designed to control the development and use of land and buildings in the public interest.

North Norfolk District Council operates its enforcement activities within government guidelines as set out in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) published in March 2012, and in accordance with the Council's policy as set out in the Local Development Framework Core Strategy.

This document outlines the Planning Enforcement Service.

Use the menu options on the right hand side of this page to find out how to make a complaint or appeal an enforcement notice.

If you believe unauthorised work to protected trees and hedges is being undertaken, you should contact the Council's Conservation, Design and Landscape section in writing or, in urgent cases telephone 01263 516142.

Search Enforcements or Submit a Suspected Breach of Planning

Search results may include cases with Planning Contravention Notices and Breach of Condition Notices - not all of these are Land Charges.

The form for submitting a suspected breach of planning is at the foot of the first search page.  You can attach photographs or documents.  There is more information about breaches of planning on our Making an Enforcement Complaint page.
