Obtaining Planning Permission
Development Control or ‘Planning’ is the process by which development proposals in the form of planning applications, are considered and decided. This does not include looking at how a building or extension is constructed, as this is dealt with by the Building Control Service.

Do you need Planning Permission?
If you want to build an extension, erect a conservatory or garage or do other work to your home, or if you want to expand your business or change the use of your premises, you may need to apply for planning permission.

Making a Planning Application

You can make a Planning Application online through the Planning Portal, a government sponsored web-site, and you can view government guidance notes.
