Planning Application Forms

We will send Planning Application forms to you, but in your request please specify which of the application forms you require. Use the number from the list of 1APP forms at the bottom of this page.

1APP - the Government's 'standard' form for Development Control applications

• The use of the 1APP standard application forms is now mandatory.
• If you need to apply for two consent types, e.g. planning permission and listed building consent, combined forms are available which include the questions for both application types. If you use one of these combined forms, it will be treated as two applications and you will be given two application numbers, one for each type of consent.
• Goverment Circular on 1APP (PDF) and information is available on the Planning Portal 1 APP pages.
• The new validation procedures to accompany the introduction of 1APP require LPA's to publish 'national' and 'local' requirements for each application type. We have published the national requirements for each specific application form, and we are working on producing local requirements. They will be published here when they are completed.
  

Your Application
With your application form and application documents, we require your signature (unless you are applying online), payment, and copies of your plans. To help us process your application efficiently, forms should be filled in clearly and correctly, and applications should include clear and accurate plans. You should consider using a professional agent to deal with your application - it can make the process smoother for you and for the Council.

Please be aware that your application form, as well as accompanying plans and documents will almost certainly, be made available for viewing from these web pages. Note too, that application fees are set by the government.

Quality of Paper Plans (for Scanning) - Please don't send :

• drawings/plans on semi translucent paper
• drawings/plans which have a blotchy background
• drawings/plans with outlines drawn in faint pencil or light grey
• drawings/plans which are drawn on a coloured background, especially if the drawing includes colour
• several detailed or coloured drawings/plans on one A0 sheet (as the image file can be too large)

1APP Forms and Requirements

• The 1APP forms can be downloaded, printed and filled in manually. In the table below, the number preceding the description of each form is also in the PDF file name and may help keep track of the files if you download them.
• The consultation period on the Council's local list of requirements ended on 25 February and a report (including some recommendations for changes) is to be presented to a combined meeting of the Development Control Committees (East and West) on 10 April. If Members agree to adopt the amended local list it is not likely to come into force until June to coincide with the anticipated adoption of the Local Development Framework Core Strategy.
