Register of Planning Applications

The NNDC Online Register of Planning Applications is updated every evening, and documents are scanned in each working day. Once an application has been finally decided, only plan, decision notice and appeal or high court decision documents will show. You can see:

  • Register details from 1974,
  • scanned decision notices from 2000, and
  • plans and accompanying documents from 1st August 2005.

USING the SEARCH:

  • search by application reference - type in the 8 digits, without the PLA/, for example, 20091234.
  • search by address/postcode may not find the application you want. Click the grid reference of an application near the address, select a radius and date range and search.
  • search by Grid Reference, enter easting and northing without commas e.g. 606031335304 or OS Grid Ref: e.g. TG16413827

GUIDE to the REGISTER DISPLAY:

Planning Application Reference : e.g. PLA / 20021234
The link here, lists plans, documents, decision notices and any online Committee documents containing the 8 digit application reference number.

Status:

  • Pending - Application is still going through the process
  • Approved - Any conditions attached to the approval are stated in the decision notice.
  • Refused - Any reasons for refusal are stated in the decision notice.
  • Temporarily app - Approved for a limited time.
  • Withdrawn - Application has been withdrawn.

Dates

  • Decision Date: date the decision was made.
  • Consultation expiry dates are 21 days after the Progress Entry Date for Progress Trail Entry Description: (RE) CONSULT.
  • Progress Trail Entry Date: date the action occurred.
  • Progress Trail Entry Description: type of action, eg acknowledgement, register entry, consultation, reconsultation, notify etc.
    (The Public Progress Trail appears for all applications registered since 6th June 2005 (PLA /20050893), and some earlier. )
  • Registration Date is the Progress Trail Entry Date for Progress Trail Entry Description: REGISTER ENTRY (PART I)
    and is the date the application was validated.
  • Site Notice Expiry Date: and Press Advert Expiry Date: If there are no objections by the latest of these dates, straightforward applications can be decided.
  • Public consultation start date is 21 days before the earliest of the expiry dates above.
  • Public Consultation end date is the latest of the Site Notice Expiry and Press Advert Expiry dates.
  • Latest Committee Date: for the next relevant Development Control Committee meeting
  • Permission expiry date is in the Decision Notice.
  • Received date: the eight week target date is calculated from here.
  • Appeal Received Date: the application has been appealed
  • Appeal Decision date: and Appeal Decision: will appear when the appeal has been decided

Decision Level:

  • Members - Decision will be made by the relevant Development Control Committee.
  • Delegated - Decision will be made by a planning officer.

Committee Report: (if applicable) the planning officer's report from the Development Control Committee meeting, where the decision was made.

Only fields with content will display, so the screen display will vary for different applications.
