County Wildlife Sites

County Wildlife Sites (formerly known as 'C' Sites) were identified by the Norfolk Phase I Habitat Survey (1986). This survey was a field by field survey undertaken by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust (formerly known as Norfolk Naturalists Trust) aimed at identifying the areas of semi-natural habitat remaining in Norfolk outside SSSIs. The survey identified 1,200 sites of County importance for wildlife. There are over 250 such sites in North Norfolk.
