Census and Population Statistics


The County Council's Demographic Services website provides a wide range of information including 2001 Census data, boundary maps, population projections, Indices of Deprivation and historic populations at http://www.norfolk.gov.uk/demography


The Norfolk Data Observatory (NDO) offers a wide range of data including benefit claimants, deprivation, population, business, crime and mortality data (at small area level) for mapping, analysis and to download at http://www.norfolkdata.net


The Norfolk Census Explorer provides detailed 2001 Census data (including all published tables) customised for Norfolk at http://www.norfolkcensusexplorer.net


The Office for National Statistics carries out a Country-wide Census every ten years. The last Census took place in 2001 and the results include social and economic details of residents and households for each of the District's parishes. The full detail can be viewed and downloaded from the National Statistics website. A summary table showing the population of the District's parishes is given in the link below.
