The Planning Policy Section uses information from a variety of sources to monitor, review and formulate planning policies. This information is made available to the public, via this website wherever possible.

This section includes documents that provide detail on the North Norfolk Environment.

Please note: Some of these studies have been commissioned to formulate planning policy and may not represent actual District Council policy.

  • Landscape Character Assessment

    A Landscape Character Assessment has been produced to help implement Core Strategy policies, particularly Policy EN2 Protection and Enhancement of Landscape and Settlement Character.

  • Open Space and Recreation Study

    A study was undertaken to gather information on the needs and opportunities relating to open space and recreation in the District.

  • Strategic Flood Risk Assessment

    Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) was commissioned to inform preparation of the LDF and also to provide further details of varying levels of flood risk within the area

  • North Norfolk Design Guide

    The North Norfolk Design Guide is a Supplementary Planning Document produced to support the Core Strategy.

  • Coastal Erosion Development Control Guidance

    A document has been produced to provide guidance for developers, and those determining planning applications, on the nature of development that is likely to be appropriate within the Coastal Erosion Constraint Area.
