What is the Local Area Partnership Association?
-
The Local Area Partnership Association or LAPA as it is referred to, is made up of representatives from the 7 Local Area Partnerships which covers the whole of the North Norfolk District and through which most LAA, District and Local Projects are enabled. They meet regularly to share best practise, local knowledge and achieve collaborative working for the benefit of North Norfolk communities.

What is an Area Partnership?
An Area Partnership is an all inclusive group of community representatives working together for the benefit of the community. The benefits can be social, economic and environmental and they must be sustainable.
Why do we need an Area Partnership?
-
An Area Partnership could help us attract money to fund those things that will benefit our community. It is also a way of pooling resources between partners and other agencies, avoiding duplication and enriching services either through joint-working or influence.
What else can a Partnership do?
A Partnership can also lobby for the needs of the community. That means we can have a strong voice. This is particularly relevant through their membership of the North Norfolk Community Partnership, which includes access to other partners and agencies through this group.
But have we not got a say with things now?
Well we have, but it's coming from several different sources. As a Partnership is a group of community representatives, it can pool resources and skills and really make a say.
-
The Area Partnerships across North Norfolk are working on a host of projects in their areas - see their individual websites or contact them for more information.
