Projects
Information about some of projects the partnership have contributed towards are shown below:
| A Vision for Wells - Wells Maltings Project |
| A partnership of organisations in 2008 with funding from NNCP identified a holistic package of project options that would contribute to and support the longer term economic, social and environmental sustainability of Wells-next-the-Sea . |
| North Norfolk Business Forum |
| To create a Business Forum based on the broadest possible membership of North Norfolk Businesses, which will give a co-ordinated voice to our businesses in the arena of local, regional, national and international affairs, and to ensure that the Forum is run by business, for business |
| North Norfolk Skills Partnership |
|
Formed to create a district wide strategic group concerned with the planning and delivery of learning which will link in to other relevant groups such as the North Norfolk Business Forum and health. This will produce a strategy around learning by looking at the needs of the District and prioritising actions for the short, medium and long term. The partnership will also be a two way communications channel between businesses, other training users and learning providers, thus identifying skills needs and clarifying training provision and capability, which in turn will widen participation in training in North Norfolk. |
| It's Our Theatre |
| It's Our Theatre Is... a three year project delivering arts activity for 4 to 25 year olds in the seven North Norfolk Market Towns through already established thriving outreach groups in Sheringham and North Walsham with five new groups to be established. The project includes a number of different elements which are sympathetic to each other and demonstrate a clear strategic "joined-up" ethos. It is a flexible model which allows for a responsive approach with participant feedback and peer leadership. A clear development path involving a variety of stakeholders offering legacy and sustainability will be established. Engagement with young people will considerably develop their personal and social skills. The project will work with young people who have little access to arts activity outside of school and college, who because of the the physical nature of North Norfolk have few opportunities to engage and network with other young people outside their immediate location. |
| Youth Arts Programme |
|
This program works intricately with the It's Our Theatre project. The Norfolk Youth Arts Consortium (NYAC) is a partnership of arts organisations, schools and young people's charities with a shared vision for the development of young people's performing arts opportunities in the County of Norfolk. The consortium has agreed a delivery plan of activity which has 3 strands. Over time this programme will be further developed as more young people are engaged. To begin to deliver this programme the consortium requires a fundraiser to acquire resources to deliver the different elements of strands 1 & 2. |
| The Voluntary & Community Sector Development Programme for North Norfolk |
| Recognising the role the third sector plays in delivering a range of public services, and in reaching and advocating on behalf of, marginalized and hard to reach groups this project will work strategically to develop the capacity of the sector and continue the growth of vcsTogether, the forum for voluntary and community groups in North Norfolk. |
| Access 2 Nature |
| The aim of the project is to improve physical and mental health and well being particularly for people with physical, sensory, learning disabilities or mental ill health and those with long term health conditions. It will improve practical knowledge, and skills as well as transferable softer skills such as team working and decision making which will improve people's job prospects. |
| Fit Together |
|
The Fit Together project is a county wide activity programme with a focus on the over 50s. The key components of the programme are Walking for Health schemes based in North Norfolk, Central Norfolk, Breckland, West Norfolk and Great Yarmouth. Although the led walks are the dominant part of the programme, other activities have been introduced, in particular in North Norfolk, and have proved very successful. Additional activities include badminton, dance, keep-fit, cycling and aqua-fit, with the introduction of table tennis during 2009-2010. The programme was initiated by Lloyds Pharmacies who wanted to be pro-active in supporting community health. |
| Mobile Health Trainers |
|
The mobile health trainer programme is looking to build capacity within communities; bringing them close together and helping them become more cohesive. The service works with people with disabilities who without the mobile service would not have access to any physical activity. It encourages people to take part in physical activity and provides a social network for them providing a leisure provision to those communities that need it most, and for whatever reason barriers to exercise have prevented them from participating, signposting participants to other leisure facilities. The project aims to reduce health inequalities, including obesity, rural deprivation and access to exercise. It helps reduce hypertension and has greatly helped people that suffer from mild depression, improving fitness levels and mental wellbeing. |
| Holt Summer Festival |
| The Holt Festival is a week long event which encourages the community to participate and achieve delivery of the arts to all the residents of Holt, the surrounding rural catchment area, as well as visitors. It is an opportunity for residents to experience performances, which normally would not be easily accessible to them |
