Appeal hearing — Hedgerow Replacement Notice
A planning inspector will hear an appeal next month against North Norfolk District Council’s decision to require that a hedgerow be replaced at Great Ryburgh.
The Council alleges that a hedgerow was improperly removed on the Sennowe Estate, and issued a Hedgerow Replacement Notice in November last year.
The allegation is denied by landowner Mr TRE Cook, who is appealing against the notice. The appeal hearing is scheduled for 10am on Tuesday, 6 July, at NNDC’s office at Holt Road in Cromer.
The Planning Inspectorate’s hearing on 6 July is open to the public.
Mr Cook is also currently subject to proceedings in the magistrates courts in relation to this allegation. On 8 June, magistrates at Swaffham adjourned the case against Mr Cook, who is charged with unauthorised removal of a hedgerow and cutting down two protected trees, until 7 September.
