Wells Maltings complex – public to see future designs

Friday 5 March 7.30pm

24 February 2010

The people of Wells are being invited to see the final result of consultation and design studies by the team appointed to look into the future use of the historic Wells Maltings complex.

On Friday 5 March, at 7.30pm, a public meeting is being held in the Maltings building on Staithe Street, Wells, to show people in the town details of the proposals to renew and invigorate the Maltings complex. After a three month consultation process RH Partnership Architects and Business Planning Consultants will present their designs and business case ideas. These can then be carried forward by the community of Wells to create a sustainable future for these important buildings.

Pete Lynn, Chair of the steering group that is taking forward the work with the consultants said “A lot of hard work and dedicated time has been spent working with and supporting the RH Partnership Team to develop their expert thoughts on these proposals, which will create a centrepiece of life for the community and visitors to the town. We would like to invite people to share in our support for this exciting project and look to the future, so that the project can become a reality for Wells.”

Funding for the study has been provided from the Sea Change Fund being delivered by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), with funding support also provided by the North Norfolk Community Partnership and North Norfolk District Council.
