The future of Wells Maltings – exhibition dates

Wells Maltings Complex - Future options to be put on view

23 November 2009

Wells residents are being invited to see the initial results of consultation and design studies developed by the consultants appointed to look into the future use of the historic Maltings complex in the centre of the town.

RH Partnerships, the consultancy team working with the Wells Maltings Complex Project Steering Group, will be presenting a number of design options at a public meeting in the Maltings, starting at 7.30pm on Friday 4 December.

The young people of Wells are also invited to a special meeting at the Maltings at 4.30pm on Thursday 10 December where they will be asked for their thoughts and ideas on how they could get involved in this exciting project.

“This is an exciting opportunity for everyone to see the results of the early consultation and the sort of design options that are being suggested for the Maltings complex,” said Pete Lynn, Chair of the steering group that is taking forward the work with the consultants. “We would welcome people’s thoughts on how the building can be best used for the future of Wells and everyone who lives here”.

The design, research and consultation activities being carried are expected to last three months. Funding for the study has been granted from the Sea Change Fund being delivered by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), with funding support also provided by the North Norfolk Community Partnership and North Norfolk District Council.
