Supporting North Norfolk Tourism Business
Norman Lamb MP to launch new North Norfolk Coast, Countryside and Broads Guide on 6 December
20 November, 2007One of the most important tools in promoting tourism in North Norfolk, the North Norfolk Coast, Countryside and Broads Guide for 2008 will be launched at a gathering including many local tourism businesses at Wolterton Hall on 6 December, with a keynote speech from Norman Lamb MP.
North Norfolk welcomes around 1 million staying visitors and 8.5 million day visitors each year, while tourism as a whole contributes close to £400 million to the local economy annually.
North Norfolk District Council has produced 90,000 copies of the Coast, Countryside and Broads 2008 Guide, featuring the natural and built attractions of the area and accommodation providers, all of which are quality accredited. The guides will be promoted through an extensive marketing campaign and then distributed across the country and abroad.
Accommodation providers, attractions and other tourism businesses will all be present at the event, hosted by Lord and Lady Walpole, to listen to Norman Lamb.
“Tourism is vital for the economy of North Norfolk,” said Robin Smith, Economic and Tourism Development Manager for NNDC. “The Council invests around £1.8 million each year in activities that support tourism, ranging from caring for the foreshore and the natural environment to direct promotion of the high quality attractions and excellent accommodation that is available in the District. This Guide plays an extremely important part in telling the rest of the world what a wonderful place North Norfolk is and encouraging them to visit.”
