Honours for local heroes
North Norfolk District Council has recognised local heroes who contribute to the wellbeing of our community, with Civic Awards and Community Enhancement Awards given this spring.
At its Full Council meeting in April, NNDC gave Civic Awards to Mike Crowe and Brian Farrow of SheringhamPlus, the town’s regeneration group that has steered through 11 major projects — improvements like the redevelopment of Oddfellows Hall.
, co-ordinator for Homes for Wells, picked up a Community Enhancement Award for her organisation’s efforts in buying and renting out affordable homes for local people.
Bodham Playing Field Committee’s Community Enhancement Award for its refurbishment of the sports pavilion and providing new play and exercise equipment for children and adults was presented to Harry Bruford, the committee’s vice chairman and chief fundraiser.
