Love food but hate waste? Join us at Wild About the Wensum
Learn how to reduce the amount of rubbish you throw away, with information, games and giveaways at this weekend’s Wild About the Wensum family event at Pensthorpe, near Fakenham.
North Norfolk District Council officers will be helping out on the Love Food Hate Waste stand on Saturday, 16 May (10am to 5pm), promoting the reduction of food waste. There will be a tombola with instant prizes like magnetic shopping lists, spaghetti measurers and fridge thermometers, and a competition for the top food waste reducing tip — the best tip earning a chance to win a meal for two at Michelin-starred chef Galton Blackiston’s Morston Hall!
There will also be information about composting and recycling, recipe cards to take away, and 1000 bags of compost available free on a first-come, first-served basis.
Wild About the Wensum attracted 4000 people last year. It aims to promote the conservation work needed to protect the Wensum Valley Special Area for Conservation.
