Mundesley homes win building excellence award
A development of eight new homes at Mundesley has earned a prestigious regional award for the quality of design and work on the site.
The Rectory Close properties, built by Cripps Development and designed by architects Chaplin Farrant, won the Best Housing Development (2-10 units) category of the East Anglia regional Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards, which recognise quality and standards through the whole design and build process of all kinds and sizes of projects.
The Rectory Close development was nominated for the award by Gary Cass of North Norfolk District Council’s Building Control team, and as a regional winner now goes forward to the national finals — and a glittering presentation dinner in London’s Grosvenor Square in October. The regional award was presented at a dinner last month [April] in Cambridge.
The development, off Paston Road, incorporates energy-efficient features within a design sympathetic to Norfolk’s architectural traditions.
The Sedum House project at Gimingham by architect and Developer Tom ground was highly commended in the Best Sustainable Project category and finalist in the Best One-off House category.
