Community Enhancement Awards – deadline this Friday
The deadline for entries for the 2008 Community Enhancement Awards in North Norfolk is this Friday, 20 March.
North Norfolk District Council wants to hear from people, groups and organisations who have done things in 2008/09 to make the local environment better for everyone who lives here, whether it’s clearing up long-standing litter and rubbish or putting up bird boxes or planting a community garden.
There will be a £250 prize for the winner in each Community Enhancement Awards category: one for coastal and market towns, and one for smaller communities.
Councillor Sue Arnold, Chairman of NNDC, who initiated the awards, said: “We learned this week that North Norfolk is the cleanest part of the country, when we won the top trophy in the Clean Britain Awards, which is down to the hard work of people and groups in the District, as well as our street cleaners and litter pickers. We know that so many people do so much to keep North Norfolk pristine. These Enhancement Awards aim to give those people some recognition, so please don’t miss this opportunity and get your entry forms in quick!”
For an entry form visit www.northnorfolk.org or contact Kirsty Read on 01263 516017 or at kirsty.read@north-norfolk.gov.uk
