Council 'performing well' financially, says audit report
The Government's inspection body says North Norfolk District Council is 'consistently above minimum requirements - performing well', giving the Council an overall level 3 assessment for its use of resources.
Last year the Audit Commission assessed this area of the Council's management as level 2 ('at only minimum requirements - adequate performance').
The Audit Commission's judgement applies to financial matters such as financial reporting, financial management, internal control and value for money. NNDC is one of four councils in Norfolk to be judged at level 3 for its Overall Use of Resources this year.
Peter Moore, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: "I am delighted that the Audit Commission has recognised the improvements that the Council has been making in its management of resources. In these difficult times people need to have confidence that the Council's funds are being used well and the Audit Commission has confirmed that this is certainly the case in North Norfolk."
