Sadler's Wood wins prestigious Green Flag Award for the first time
North Norfolk District Council is celebrating winning the first ever ‘Green Flag Award’ for Sadler’s Wood, near North Walsham.
A prestigious green flag will be raised to mark the award during an event being held at Sadler’s Wood on 30 October 2012. The flag will be proudly flown at Sadler’s Wood for a year.
NNDC Leader Keith Johnson said: ‘A lot of hard work has been undertaken by staff and local volunteers in the last twelve months to make Sadler’s Wood a well maintained, safe and welcoming place for locals and visitors to the area to enjoy.
‘We are extremely proud that this effort has been recognised at a national level, and hope that it will serve to encourage even more visitors to Sadler’s Wood.’
Sadler’s Wood is the second North Norfolk District Council countryside site to win the prestigious Green Flag. Holt Country Park has held the award for the past eight years.
