Last Chance to Comment on Long-Term Planning Policies20 July, 2007The deadline is approaching for comments to be received on the Core Strategy of the Local Development Framework for North Norfolk - the planning policies that will shape development in the District up to 2021. A six-week consultation on the Core Strategy, which outlines policies that will apply across the whole of North Norfolk, started on 18 June. Comments must be received by North Norfolk District Council by 12 noon on Monday, 30 July, and everyone is encouraged to respond to this important consultation. The Local Development Framework sets the rules that will be used for the next 15 years when deciding on planning applications and specifies how much housing or business development can be accommodated, and in which general locations. The current draft of the Core Strategy already incorporates some of the views expressed in the first round of public consultation undertaken last year. However, anyone who feels their views have not been reflected in the new draft should take part in this new consultation as comments made at the last round cannot automatically be brought forward for consideration. Comments made now are sent to an independent Planning Inspector for final decision. This consultation does not cover the Site Specific Proposals document, which allocates individual pieces of land for development. There will be further consultation on this element early in 2008. A timetable giving details of document production and consultations is available on the LDF website. To view the consultation documents and for further information about how to take part in the Core Strategy consultation, call 01263 516355 or visit:
