NNDC responds to the Norfolk Primary Care Trust "Our Health, Our Care - Have Your Say" Consultation Document

4th June 2007

Norfolk Primary Care Trust has been consulting on their proposals for intermediate care services. If implemented this would mean in North Norfolk that community hospitals such as Benjamin Court (Cromer), St Michaels (Aylsham) and Cranmer House NHS beds (Fakenham) could close. Kelling and North Walsham hospitals would remain open with an increased range of diagnostic and out - patient clinics / services. There would also be twenty six in - patient beds at either Kelling or North Walsham hospital. Home care services would be expanded.

Whilst the Council supports the expansion of home care and locally based diagnostic and out - patient services it is opposed to the loss of inpatient beds and the closure of community hospitals. This is reflected in the full and detailed response to the consultation from North Norfolk District Council, available to download here: PCT Consultation Response (81Kb).

If you require any further information about the proposals or the District Council's response please contact Sonia Shuter, Health Improvement Officer on 01263 516173 or email sonia.shuter@north-norfolk.gov.uk
