Enter Now for Prestigious Building Conservation Award

31 May, 2007

Sensitive renovation projects and new buildings which make innovative use of traditional features and detailing have just one month to enter for an award from North Norfolk District Council.

Entries are now being sought for this year's Graham Allen Award, the annual North Norfolk District Council award for excellence in conservation and design. The closing date for entries is Friday, 30 June, 2007.

Introduced in 1982 as a memorial to the late G.S. Allen, the first Chairman of the Council, the Graham Allen Award recognises the development or restoration project which makes the biggest contribution to North Norfolk's unique built environment.

Last year's winner was the construction of the new RNLI Henry Blogg Museum and Rocket Cafe Building on The Promenade in Cromer. The new church hall extension at St Peter's Church, Sheringham was Highly Commended, whilst the sensitive conversion of St John's Hall in Holt received a Commendation.

• For more information about the Graham Allen Award, or to obtain an entry form, call Chris Young at North Norfolk District Council on 01263 516138 or email chris.young@north-norfolk.gov.uk
