Go Green at Sheringham Park this Weekend!25 April, 2006People who are looking to make home improvements or build their own houses should drop in to Sheringham Park this weekend, for North Norfolk's annual Green Build exhibition. The event brings suppliers and contractors in the fields of sustainable construction, renovation, DIY and green living together to show the public how they can build sustainability into their homes. Green Build includes: Exhibitors include reclaimed materials merchants, NNDC's own rubbish and recycling team promoting recycling and composting, energy advisors including the CRed carbon reduction campaign team from the University of East Anglia, companies selling eco-friendly materials, and many more. Attendance at the presentations and on tours needs to be pre-booked, and some are already full. The exhibition is designed to show how environmentally-friendly innovations around the home can save energy (and therefore money). It offers ideas to help us have a smaller environmental impact - and a District like North Norfolk, which depends heavily on tourism and agriculture, needs to work hard to preserve its precious environment. Green Build is open 10.30am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, 29 and 30 April. Admission is free, but parking at the National Trust-owned Sheringham Park venue (on the A148 at Upper Sheringham, Norfolk) costs £3.30. The exhibition will be officially opened by North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb at 10.30am on Saturday. The media are welcome to attend.
