Have a Great "Day Out" at Pensthorpe27 March, 2006The annual Day Out in North Norfolk travel trade show will take place at Pensthorpe nature reserve near Fakenham this year, bringing 70 exhibitors from the local tourism industry together under one marquee roof to show off their wares to tour organisers from around the country. Day Out was originally due to be held at Pensthorpe two years ago, but was cancelled at the eleventh hour because of bad weather. The event, on Friday and Saturday, 7 and 8 April, will see hundreds of invited guests and thousands of members of the public discovering what North Norfolk has to offer holidaymakers, day-trippers and locals in search of fun things to do. On the first day, Friday 7 April, the show is only open to invited representatives of the tourism trade from around the country - people who can bring visitors and income into the District. On the Saturday, 8 April, the Day Out exhibition is open to the public. Entry into the exhibition is free, and entry into Pensthorpe itself will be half-price on the Saturday, too. Day Out will be open 10m to 4pm, and there will be family entertainments throughout the day including performances by the Sheringham Shantymen and Just Jazz plus clowns and face-painting. Car parking is free. The media are welcome to attend on either day, 7 or 8 April. Please call Nick Manthorpe on 01263 516059 or 07748 641715 to confirm you will be attending, if possible, and for help arranging interviews etc. On the Friday, the show will be officially opened at 11am by the Chairman of North Norfolk District Council, Councillor Sue Willis, followed by the presentation of the 2005 North Norfolk Tourism Awards by NNDC Cabinet Member Hilary Nelson, and the launch of the 2006 Seaside Special. Pensthorpe is about a mile from Fakenham towards Norwich on the A1067.
