Funding Advice for Local Communities

13 June, 2005

Funding is crunch issue for everyone starting up projects that meet a community need and virtually all voluntary organisations. The large number of funders, each with different criteria for supporting local groups, can be confusing. Now help is at hand with North Norfolk's first ever funding event being held in North Walsham's Community Centre on Monday July 18, at 10am.

The free event will feature exhibitions from the major funding bodies and practical workshops explaining - among other things - what funders look for in an application, the techniques to use when applying and how to plan a new project.

In addition to the funders themselves expert help will be available from representatives of Stalham with Happing Partnership, North Walsham Area Partnership and NVS (Norwich and Norfolk Voluntary Services) who are jointly organising the event.

The event is part of the Year of the Volunteer and is being promoted in response to comments made by many organisations. Free refreshments during the day will be an extra encouragement for people to meet and share their experiences and explore new ways of working together.
