Kelling to Lowestoft Ness Shoreline Management Plan Roadshows

January 28, 2005

A series of roadshows has been organised to help people understand and formulate responses to draft plans for the coastline.

The events are aimed to give everyone the chance to speak with officers from the authorities (or organisations) involved, and their consultants, on a one-to-one basis about the draft Shoreline Management Plan currently available for public consultation.

Gary Watson, of the coast project team at North Norfolk District Council, said the events, which would include displays, were particularly aimed at people who may not have had the opportunity to put questions forward before.

He stressed that this was an opportunity to aid stakeholders with their understanding of the issues, and to help anyone who wanted to contribute to the consultation to formulate their own views before they put them in writing.

He also said the consultation period had been extended until Friday, April 29, 2005. The change had come after several requests from individuals and organisations for more time and to allow as many people as possible to get their views across.

Copies of the plan can be found at council offices and local libraries. The plan is also available for download from the Anglian Coastal Authorities Group website at http://www.acag.org.uk/. Details of how people can participate in the consultation will be available at the roadshows.

The roadshows will be at:

Corton Village Hall on February 8, 2-7.30pm

Caister Council Hall on February 14, 2-7.30pm

Great Yarmouth Town Hall, Assembly Rooms, on February 15, 2-6.30pm.

Winterton Village Hall, on February 16, 9am-2pm (morning only).
