Huge Satisfaction Survey Across North Norfolk8 September, 2003A random selection of 3000 North Norfolk people will be contacted by post next week (from Monday, 15 September) and asked how satisfied they are with the District and local services. North Norfolk District Council, along with all other local authorities in Norfolk apart from Norwich City Council, has commissioned research company MORI to conduct its three-yearly customer satisfaction survey. The survey is statutory - the Council has to conduct it, by law - and is designed to gauge residents' feelings about their quality of life, and what needs improving. It covers a wide range of activities and aspects of life in North Norfolk, like public transport, crime levels, employment and the economy, culture, affordable housing, waste and recycling, sports and leisure facilities, and education provision. It also asks for views on local authorities and their services: how good people think those services are, and whether they are getting better. The results of the survey, showing what residents' priorities are, and where they feel resources need to targeted, will be compiled and analysed over the Christmas period and will be used to inform the Council's decision-making process. The data gathered may also be passed to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (the Government department responsible for local government) so national patterns of service satisfaction can be studied. The 12-page questionnaire will be sent out by post across the District from 15 September, and anyone who receives one is asked to complete and return it (using the pre-paid envelope enclosed with it) by 17 October, 2003. Different formats, like large print, Braille, or a different language, will be available to those who prefer. NNDC Policy and Research Assistant Kate Sullivan said: "If you receive one of these questionnaires, please do fill it in and return it. By telling us what you think of our services, you are helping us to help you." ENDS
