How you can help
- Come along to the Museum for three hours or more, on a day that is convenient to you
- Come regularly once a week or be on-call
Provide a welcome for visitors of all ages - Use your skills to help in whatever way you choose
Are you happy to be with others, making tea and helping out where you can? There are pleanty of times when a friendly helping hand is needed, on a regular day or at the special events.
Are you a craftsman, a boat builder or a DIY enthusiast - there is plenty of opportunity to use your skills conserving or restoring boats and other museum objects.
Are you good with people, with a welcoming smile and basic skills with money? There is a real need for volunteers to welcome visitors and help them make the most of their visit.
Do you have skills in administration, management, IT, education or museum work? There are lots of developments, planned and in progress, where your skills would be valuable.
Whatever your interests, whatever your skills you will be most welcome.

Or call in to the Museum on a Wednesday morning between 10.00 and 12.00 to see what being a volunteer could mean for you. There will be other volunteers around working on the boats and other projects and if you ask for the Administrator she will give you more information.
