Burt Reynolds leads the cast in this comic but also moving film that showcases some of the best British talent. Reynolds is the insecure, difficult and demanding Jefferson Steel, an ageing Hollywood action hero who is persuaded by his agent to accept an invitation to play King Lear in Stratford…. only the Stratford in question is Stratford St John, a sleepy Suffolk village. And the theatre is an old barn, which the villagers want to save from closure by putting on a star-led charity performance. Featuring delightful support from Imelda Staunton and Derek Jacobi, this is a heart-warming delight.
