A thriller by N0J0Crisp presented by arrangement with Samuel French Ltd
A sunny afternoon in the Home Counties. Sally Driscoll is watering her plants in the conservatory of her luxurious home, clad only in a swimsuit.
Peaceful enough - but suddenly a bespectacled, suited man, John Barrett, appears at the door. Is he selling double-glazing? No - it would appear that the Barretts met the Driscolls in Torquay.
Simple Barrett may appear, but simple he is not. After some exacting word-play, and the arrival of Mark Driscoll, it seems that Barrett is "dangerously obsessed" with pinning the blame for his wife's accident on someone.
Gradually the tale unfolds …

Twists, turns and terror aplenty feature in the latest offering in Sheringham Little Theatre's summer repertory line-up, the nail-biting NJ Crisp thriller, Dangerous Obsession, which opens on Thursday (July 17).
When smooth-talking stranger John Barrett (played by Richard Sandells) turns up at the luxurious home of Mark and Sally Driscoll claiming to have met them on holiday in Torquay, the couple's world is turned upside down.
For his intentions are not quite as innocent as they seem, and the unwelcome guest has malevolence in mind.
His wife lies in hospital after a car crash, and intent on pinning the blame for her injuries on Mark (Andrew Castell), the "dangerously obsessed" Barrett proceeds to terrorise both Driscoll and the blissfully oblivious Sally (Georgina Carey).
As the tale unfolds, conflicting facets of the couple's lives are revealed. These Barrett strips away until he departs as suddenly as he arrived, leaving behind a trail of shattered faith, broken trust and a marriage that will never heal.
The most famous play from the pen of Dixon of Dock Green and Doctor Finlay's Casebook writer Crisp, Dangerous Obsession has been produced worldwide.
It is directed by former Maddermarket Theatre artistic director Clare Goddard, who, with Simon Callow and the London Mozart Players, co-directed a production of the morality play Everyman.
A fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Clare trained as a stage director at Drama Studio London, where she won a Director of the Year award.
Dangerous Obsession runs at Sheringham Little Theatre nightly at 8pm (matinee at 2.30pm on 22 July) from July 17-22 and from September 3-6. It is followed on July 24 by the hilarious Eric Chappell farce Snakes and Ladders, which runs until July 29.
Tickets, priced £12.50 (£9.50 matinees) are available from the box office on 01263 822347.
