Sheer Sheringham

Joan Byrne - In Sheringham, we may take our beach for granted but for this London-based photographer it is a source of fascination. Her series of photographs of Sheringham Beach, taken over many years of frequent visits, depict a surprising, occasionally mysterious but always delightful environment. Take a look: her photos will give you a whole new view of a local beauty.

Recycling

Jessica Perry - Recycling all kinds of junk into intricate and thoughtful pictures and sculptures is the longterm habit of this artist and project leader. Some works involve up to 200 people in the making of the final piece and other work she makes solo, over a period of months.

Student exhibition

Paston College - will be exhibiting paintings, sculpture, photographs and textiles. This exhibition gives them a great opportunity to show their work.

Sheringham High School - have been working on a theme that involves studying their environment, resulting in paintings, watercolours and mixed media works. Students have enjoyed the freedom to develop as artists and to express their ideas in a variety of processes.

There will be examples of portfolios and sketchbooks from both schools on show at the preview.

Norfolk Contrasting Views

Gill Baguley - This exhibition has allowed the artist to undertake two separate journeys that are linked with one idea. Alongside representational paintings of well loved views of the local environment are images inspired by concerns about the changes caused by erosion, population explosion and pollution. It is a journey of dreams and of imagination, a nostalgic record and a fantasy of the creative spirit.
