Black History "An Artist's Reflection on Black History"

This painting was commissioned by NEAD for the publicity for Black History Month 2006 from the artist Gloria Ojulari Sule. She writes of it as: "My own tribute to Black people and our complex histories. I mourn our tribulations and celebrate our successes within a collage of references to Black culture, beliefs, histories and identities, to artists and musicians, places, events, heroes and heroines."

"Loaning not Owning"

Many of his major works, all of which can be borrowed through a scheme that questions the need to own art at all, and which maintains that art has an intrinsic value; not just a financial one, brought about by scarcity. On show for one month, the exhibition culminates in a special "après view" on Sunday 2nd December from 2pm - 5pm at the theatre, with drinks, buffet and discussion with the artist, followed by an "art take-away". OPEN SHOW "Art Under £100"
This year's open art exhibition is a Christmas selling show of affordable art and every item for sale is under £100.
THERE WILL BE A PRIZE OF £100 FOR THE MOST INSPIRING PICTURE AS VOTED BY PATRONS OF THE LITTLE THEATRE!

Are you an artist?
Would you like to exhibit your work at the Little Theatre?
Sheringham Little Theatre welcomes proposals from artists who are seeking a public venue for their work. Exhibitions in the theatre run for each calendar month, and are programmed six to twelve months in advance.
The next visual arts selection committee meeting will be on Monday 1st October 2007 when the spring 2008 programme will be chosen.
Solo and group exhibition dates are available.
