Body Piercing

The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 requires that the following types of skin piercing to be registered:

  • acupuncture
  • tattooing
  • ear piercing
  • electrolysis

and is carried out by North Norfolk District Council's Licensing Team. If you would like advice or information or if you have any complaints or concerns, please contact the Customer Service Team on (01263) 516189 or 516301.

Registration covers both the person carrying on the practice and the premises used for that purpose. There are no powers to refuse registration, but the practice is controlled through compliance with byelaws. You can download the application form and supporting documentation below:




Caravan Sites

Licence required by proprietors of caravan sites provided for members of the public. North Norfolk District Council's officers inspect and licence caravan and camping sites, investigates complaints and conducts unannounced inspections of sites to ensure licence conditions are being upheld. Game Dealers - This licence ceased to be in effect from July 2007.


House to House Collections

Licence required by promoters of charitable collections made from door to door. In certain circumstances, responsibility for licence issue has been referred to Town/Parish Councils. Motor Salvage Operators

Three year licence requiring by proprietors whose business includes the dismantling of motor vehicles to be registered. Site visits and enforcement of the provisions is carried out by the police. Registration required by dealers using scrap metal stores in the Council's area or have their usual place of residence in North Norfolk.
