11/12/09 - Consultation on Key Changes to the Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan

Key Changes to the Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan
Following the consultation on the Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan in summer 2009, the Council feels there are a number of changes that could be made which would address many issues raised during the consultation. The majority of these are 'Minor Modifications' which do not need further consultation. However, some of the changes are more significant. These alterations are referred to as 'Key Changes' (also known as 'Focused Changes' under the planning regulations).

Key Changes have been proposed in the following situations:

  • Where the Council will request that an additional site be considered;
  • Where the Council will request that an alternative site should be considered;
  • Where the Council is suggesting that a site should be reduced or increased in size and consequently would accommodate a different number of dwellings to that originally consulted upon; or
  • Where requested changes to the policy requirements may result in a different form of development not previously envisaged (e.g. different access proposals).

Key Changes are being sought in the following locations:

  • Aldborough, Briston, Little Snoring, Sheringham, Stalham, Weybourne.

The Council is required to consult on the proposed Key Changes before submitting the plan for independent examination. The Inspector appointed to examine the plan will be given the Schedule of Key Changes and any comments received. It is entirely at the discretion of the Inspector as to which, if any, of the key changes are accepted.

The Schedule of Key Changes will be available for consultation from Tuesday 5 January to Tuesday 16 February 2010. Full details of the consultation will be published on this website shortly.
