***CONSULTATION CLOSED***
What are we consulting on?
Following the examination of the Core Strategy, the Planning Policy team are now preparing the Site Specific Proposals (SSP) Draft Plan document that will allocate land for housing and other uses. This will take into account all comments made during the 'Preferred Options' public consultation that took place in September 2006.
The previous 'Preferred Options' document did not include potential development sites in the Coastal Service Villages of Bacton, Happisburgh, Overstrand, Mundesley and Weybourne because, at the time, it was intended to prepare a separate development plan document (Area Action Plan) for this area of the coast. Subsequently, the Council decided to prepare a 'Coastal Management Plan' to consider a wider range of issues relating to coastal management and the longer term implications of coastal change. Therefore, the Council is now consulting on 'Preferred Options' for development sites in these five Coastal Service Villages.
We want to hear your opinions on these sites and whether or not you agree that the Council has chosen the most appropriate sites for future development. Please see below for information on how to view the document and submit comments.
Supporting Documents
The Site Specific Proposals document is subject to the preparation of a 'Sustainability Appraisal'. The purpose of this document is to examine the economic, social and environmental impacts of the proposals so we can help to achieve sustainable development.
An Appropriate Assessment has also been carried out which identifies the potential effects of the proposed plan on designated European Wildlife Sites. Both documents are available to comment on and can be downloaded below.
