25/09/07 - The Core Strategy Examination
The Council's Core Strategy document outlines the Council's approach to development within the District for the period up to 2021. It also contains a range of development control policies which will be used when assessing individual planning applications.
From 18th June to 30th July the Strategy document was open to public consultation when 770 representations were received. The Secretary of State has appointed Mr Philip Goodman to oversee the Examination of this document and to determine whether or not it is 'sound'.

A Preliminary Examination Meeting (PEM) date is set for the 9th October 2007 at 10am at the Council Office's in Cromer. The purpose of the PEM is to allow the Inspector to go through a range of procedural matters relating to how the Examination will proceed from now until its conclusion in January 2008.

The draft Examination Programme is now available online with the first session to begin on Tuesday 4th December 2007. It is possible that this will change so please check regularly for any updates.
