The Core Strategy is submitted to Government in order for it to be 'Examined'. This is the next stage of plan preparation where the Government appoints an independent inspector to examine the draft plan and subject it to a series of tests to see if it is "sound". This means asking is the plan the best response to the problems facing the district and is it "fit for purpose"?
A six-week period of public consultation ran from midday 18th June to midday 30th July 2007. Comments made at this stage will be forwarded to the Inspector for his/her consideration and a public hearing will be held, if required, for people to put their views forward in person.
Copies of the Core Strategy have been sent to all Town and Parish Councils as well as those organisations that were involved in the earlier stages of the consultation process.
