15/03/07 - Local Development Scheme (Third Revision)
Local Development Scheme (Third Revision)
Following Government office advice regarding the submission of revised timetables, the third revision of the LDS was submitted on 13th March 2007. The key changes to the LDS involve;
- The Core Strategy submission document - The Core Strategy submission will be delayed by 2 months to allow the completion of supporting submission documents. However the document will still seek Full Council approval on 18th April.
- The Site Specific Proposals preparation and submission - this will be delayed by 12 months to allow the Council to receive the Core Strategy binding report (ie to ensure the Core Strategy is found to be 'sound') prior to submission of the SSP. Because of the time delay, we anticipate further consultation on site allocations to take place early in 2008 to ensure the document is 'current' and proposed site allocations still viable.
- The Coastal Area Action Plan - has been deleted from the LDF process in favour of a Coastal Management Strategy for the coastal area which will look at coastal change on a longer timescale. The Core Strategy will include policies covering coastal erosion risks and replacement of buildings. The Site Specific Proposals will include allocations relevent to the Coastal Service Villages.
