06/11/06 - PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON PREFERRED OPTIONS IS NOW CLOSED

Preferred Options Public Consultation
The Public Consultation on the Core Strategy & Site Specific Proposals Preferred Options Documents has now closed. Thank you to everybody who has taken the time to be involved in the future development of North Norfolk by contributing your thoughts and suggestions.
During the consultation period (25th September to 6th November) over 3400 individual representations were received. All comments are being added to the online consultation system and can be viewed on our website. To view the consultation website click here

What Happens Now?
Officers are considering the representations and preparing responses to them - indicating whether the documents will be revised as a result of the comments received. The representations and responses will be reported to the LDF Working Party prior to revising the documents ready to submit to the Government for examination.
The Core Strategy will be submitted first (scheduled for April 2007) and the Site Specific Proposals will follow in the autumn. Therefore the planning policy team are currently working on the Core Strategy - further work on individual site allocations (Site Specific Proposals) will not be made until the Core Strategy has been submitted.

The officers response to comments received during the Preferred Options stage will be available to view on the Consultation Website prior to submission of the documents.
There will be a further six-week period for comments to be made on the submitted documents and these comments will be forwarded to the Inspector for consideration at the examination. At this time there will be adverts in local papers and the documents will be available at libraries and Council offices. Each person on our consultation database, and those who requested to be notified at the Preferred Options stage, will be informed when the documents are submitted to Government.
