The Local Development Framework team is currently engaged with producing the Core Strategy and Site Specific Proposals 'Preferred Options' documents, which are being published for public consultation for six weeks commencing midday on the 25th September 2006. There will be widespread publicity in advance of this six-week consultation period and further details will be posted on this site towards the end of summer.
Draft versions of the Core Strategy and Site Specific Proposals Preferred Options Documents have been prepared and thesewill be considered at the Councils Cabinet meeting on the 10th July. You can view the documents here:
Core Strategy - Preferred Options
The Core Strategy will set the overall policies for the area against which planning applications will be considered. The preferred options will propose strategies for Principal and Secondary settlements, a range of preferred options dealing with the location of new housing, community facilities, reuse of buildings in the countryside, transport, preserving the built and natural environment, design, energy conservation, renewable energy etc.
Site Specific Proposals - Preferred Options
The Site Specific Proposals document will identify proposed sites for residential, employment, retail, open space and other uses. This will include the details that developers of these sites will be required to provide, such as road access, open space, contribution to education provision etc.
