Site Allocations
The Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan was published in order to present the Council's agreed selection of development proposals and to invite comments on the documents contents. The Draft Plan was available to comment from Monday 15 June to Friday 31 July.
This was not an 'Options' Consultation (Preferred Options consultation was undertaken in September 2006 with 2112 comments recieved). These are the Council's agreed choice of sites which are believed to be the best locations to help meet the District-wide need for housing and other uses.
At this stage comments were restricted to the 'soundness' of the document e.g. is the document fit for purpose, legally compliant and 'sound'? In order to make comments a structured form was prepared which allowed consultees to explain to the Inspector why the document is or is not fit for use.

A document containing a summary of each representation has been prepared. This can be viewed at the Council offices at Cromer and Fakenham, and can also be downloaded below:
The Council has reviewed the comments received and has suggested that some minor and some detailed key changes are made to the document (see Consultation on Key Changes). In Spring the plan will be submitted to the Secretary of State who will appoint an independent Planning Inspector to examine the Draft Plan. This is referred to as the Examination Stage.
