ImageSite Specific Proposals

The Site Specific Proposals document identifies individual sites for specific uses to deliver objectives and policies in the Core Strategy. Sites have been identified for development based on a range of planning criteria.

Site Specific Proposals (Submission Stage)

The Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan was formally submitted to the Secretary of State on 5 March 2010. An independent Planning Inspector, Paul Dobsen, has been appointed by the Planning Inspectorate to conduct an Examination to decide whether the plan can be adopted for use by the Council.
A Draft Policy for the Conversion & Re-use of Rural Buildings as Dwellings was also submitted for examination. The examination process for both documents is in the advanced stages now with the Inspectors Report due for submission in November/December.

A range of key documents were required upon submission and the following were prvided to the Inspector:

  • Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan
  • Copies of all representations received on the Draft Plan
  • Schedule of Key Changes (including all representations received)
  • Schedule of Minor Modifications
  • Summary of Main Issues
  • Additonal supporting documents including: Appropriate Assessment, Consultation Statement, Equality Impact Assessment, Tests of Soundness Self-Assessment, Sustainability Appraisal.

Schedule of Key Changes / Schedule of Minor Modifications
The Council has produced two supplementary documents containing minor and key changes that the Council would like included in the final Site Allocations Plan. These suggested amendments take into account comments received during the Draft Plan consultation in June/July 2009 and the Key Changes consultation in January/February 2010. These documents have been forwarded to the Inspector and it is for him to decide which changes can or cannot be made. All representations submitted during the consultations have been provided to the Inspector for his consideration.
