Core Strategy (incorporating Development Control policies)
The Core Strategy looks at key issues such as what housing and other land uses should be planned for, the role of settlements, how we can protect the environment and reduce the impacts of climate change.
The Conversion & Re-use of Rural Buildings as Dwellings Draft Policy was formally submitted to the Secretary of State on 5 March 2010. An independent Planning Inspector, Paul Dobsen, has now been appointed by the Planning Inspectorate to conduct an Examination to decide whether the policy can be adopted for use by the Council. The Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan has also been submitted for examination and it is likely that examination of both documents will take place in June/July 2010.
A range of key documents are required upon submission and the following have been sent to the Inspector:
All of the above documents can be viewed or downloaded in section A1 and A2 of the Examination Library.
Schedule of Minor Modifications
The Council has produced a supplementary document containing minor changes that the Council would like included in the final policy. These suggested amendments take into account comments received during the Draft Policy consultation in October/November 2009. This document has been forwarded to the Inspector and it is for him to decide which changes can or cannot be made.
